Duty

Please allow us a quick introduction..

We have been married for 14 years, have 3 children, an elderly Labrador and no special background in theology. As we tried to survive hot Summer months in Florida reading with our children, we came across the story of George Müller, through the “Christian Heroes Then and Now” series. If you aren’t familiar, George Müller lived an incredible life of faith and prayer as he was considered the “Guardian” of Bristol’s (England) orphans in the mid-1800s. Mr. Müller kept meticulous notes and prayer journals, as he relied completely on faith and prayer in supporting his ministry, never once specifically asking others for support. For us, there were a few strong feelings.  Conviction, for not being in consistent prayer or not having faith that God will always provide in His timing.  Hope, for seeing the strength and blessing of George Müller and his ministry.

After traveling to Bristol, England to see first hand the orphanages that were built back in the 1800's under the leadership of George Müller, we felt it was our duty to share this man's faith and prayer life.

George Müller knew what it is like to not have food for the orphans in his care, waiting at a table for God to provide food. We want everyone to draw closer to God like Mr. Müller did in those times that were unknown and felt humanly impossible.  Mr. Müller's confidence and trust in God was one we realized we could have too!  Being in ministry ourselves for a short two years, we wish we had kept records of the prayers that God answered, along with having a place to come and lay down the burdens and needs that we were faced with daily. Now, after a year of keeping a record of our prayers and seeing the answers come abundantly, we want to encourage our friends to pray and believe that God will indeed answer your prayers.  We pray this journal will give you a glimpse of how gracious our Living God is to hear us and answer us.

Below are some pictures from our visit to George Müller's humble museum and orphan houses that still stand today.  Not only did Müller care for over 10,000 orphans, but he pastored a church and founded a ministry called The Scriptural Knowledge Institute!  Please visit the Müller Ministry online at www.mullers.org  and enjoy the wealth of information and encouragement that continues on today.
